Jaibharath voice news Hanamakonda Warangal Police Commissioner Shri Sunpreet Singh has sternly warned that strict criminal action will be initiated against any students found indulging in ragging in educational institutions.With the commencement of the new academic year, the Commissioner stated that ragging is a serious criminal offence and any student engaging in such activities will face severe consequences. He cautioned that such unlawful behavior not only puts the victims under distress but also endangers the future of the offenders themselves. Students found guilty will not only be expelled from their institutions but also face criminal prosecution, which will adversely affect their educational, career, and future opportunities.The Commissioner further emphasized that educational institutions must take proactive measures to prevent ragging. He directed that every higher educational institution must constitute Anti-Ragging Committees and Squads, ensure special monitoring for newly admitted students, and organize continuous awareness campaigns, seminars, and workshops against ragging. Institutions must also make available 24/7 helpline numbers for students to register complaints without fear.Students were advised not to indulge in any form of harassment, misconduct, or indecent activities towards fellow students. In case of any ragging incident, the victims should immediately report to the Principal, college management, or directly to the Police.Commissioner Sunpreet Singh reiterated that ragging not only destroys the academic future of students but also has a negative impact on society as a whole. He called upon educational managements, faculty members, students, and the Police to work collectively to eradicate the menace of ragging in its entirety.
